Hm.
Not a lot of interesting things to update with. Just a bunch of numbers and letters at some point and massive amounts of notes collected from readings.
I was thinking about opening up donations pools early because I spent enough money on this game to buy a Macbook Pro. If anyone knows how much those costs ... yeah. If anyone donates over seven dollars, and donates before the demo is released, they get an NPC in Carpenter's Hall. How does that sound? -_- I really didn't want to do this because I felt bad, but heh ... the debt. I don't know yet, I am still thinking about it. I am paranoid about taking donations just in case something happens and a demo had to be pushed over, argh, I would feel bad.
So many people seem to be having issues because of Internet Exlorer ... I might switch blogging platforms to Tumblr just for the pages.

i'll confess, i was really confused with kociosko's biography. i ready conflicting source, some saying he had belarusian heritage. :-S i finally got it cleared up good and just switched everything out and just made him, alfred, gil and francis as the three main characters instead.
i also changed francis, alfred's portrait, lucille's bio.

Derpmaster.
I don’t know why my CBox is being stupid, though in the game, they aren’t meant to be personifications. They are completely independent from their state and exist for war. This was easier to pull off because the original concepts of the show didn’t work out for a more serious and detailed storyline, like I said before. :-P Their plot is parallel to history, rather than a “major part” of history. I’d rather not alter history, or imply that somehow history was all dependent on these characters. I guess you play and use them to explore a more factual based world, and the problems between them are just something on the side.
Again, there were a lot of problems with the personifications. Like, why should “’America” be a patriot when only %40 of them were rebels? Would that mean I would have to have multiple Americas for each view point? It was too much of a mess. APH is a cute comedy, but the game is more of a drama and the genre change really makes a difference. Stuff had to be changed. :-S Like the timeline of this game is completely different from APH’s too. I hope people realize that when they play. I should put disclaimers at the beginning.

why hello
I posted this before on another blog, but I deleted it so I just rewrote it to link it to people so no one plays the game later going, “WTF?”
The characters are not personifications; they are detached and independent spirits that look after a territory or people. They do not age past maturity, and besides those who were born during colonization and a “new world order” – they typically take centuries or even a thousand years to grow. The characters only exist for military purposes. They adopt the title, status and prestige of the lands they protect. To them, being a “homeless spirit” is worse than disappearing altogether, so naturally their fate and actions are tied to the politics and government they work or, despite their own feelings.
Arthur is absent from most of Alfred’s childhood. In fact, they probably met three or four times total. Under England’s unwritten Salutatory Neglect Acts, there was not much British military presence in the North American continent until the 4th Inter-colonial War. Arthur was busy procuring colonies and power for his empire elsewhere in the world.
Arthur was never a pirate; he had always served his kingdom. During the Medieval Ages, he was a proud, fussy knight touting chivalry. Overtime, he evolved into an equally proud and fussy gentleman touting manners and behaving property – despite his ill-tempered nature. He neglected Alfred not because he didn’t care, but because he put his Empire at first priority.
Alfred was born amongst Virginian Algonquians and wandered around alone during his early years to find who his people would be; unsure, he returned to Virginia where a weroancequa agreed to look after him. Not too long after, he followed Arthur following a duel between Arthur and Francis. He was looked upon as a bad omen amongst many Indigenous Americans because of his foreign appearance, the fact that he was born when the old spirits began to vanish across the land. Worse, it was uncertain if there would be wars waged to keep the child amongst the various tribes.
Alfred lived alone for nearly 150 years in the deep wilderness of present day Shenandoah Valley, Virginia due to Salutary Neglect.
Feliks is not a cross-dresser nor does he speak in a Valley Girl accent. He is just a stylish fellow, I suppose. He’s still quite flowery, but erm, not as much as his Hetalia Canonverse counterpart. In his words: “I’ve seen a lot in life, and I’ve learned the world is an ugly place. That’s why I try to make the things around me beautiful!” I think everyone in this game had a huge injection of testosterone and the two people that got the most of it were Arthur and Feliks. Hopefully the lack of cross-dresser...tude doesn't upset anyone too terribly.
The British colonists are *British colonists. They look up to Arthur for protection. Alfred is a "nobody" and an outcast amongst his kind due to his status.

hi
Locales in New York include Lake George, Rochester, New York City, Fort Ticonderoga, Fort William Henry, Fort Oswego, Niagara River, Niagara Falls, Cayuga Lake, Hudson River, Fort Niagara.
This is just the first half of the game. More locales will be added in the Revolutionary War.
This is a really educational experience for me because I am a ... NorCalian. The only thing I know about lakes is Tahoe. I also realize Tahoe is a fucking earring compared to the Great Lakes. ._.
Close to finishing. You may notice a lot of familiar landmarks if you are a local. The rivers are kind of messed up because New York is a really complicated state in terms of geography. I could not remake every single river because you would have no room to walk! So I picked the major rivers. Heheh. See who can spot out the landmarks.

Plymouth is such a charming little town. I guess I was thinking of "Thanksgiving" when I was mapping it out. Though, there is scholastic debate whether or not Thanksgiving was created in Plymouth or somewhere in Virginia. Yes, you do talk to Squanto.
I always have a hard time trying to figure out how to incorporate historical figures in this game.

hm. i hope it looks similar. this is suppose to be the beginning of my construction of plymouth, the second establishment in British-America. This is where you get the imagery of "pilgrims" - interestingly enough, the first painting and artistic depictions of these folks appeared before they were even in the Americas by Dutch painters. I dunno what they were smoking. Whatever Govert is always puffing maybe, welp.
I have to go back and expand on the beginning because the game ... pretty much changed genres. You've seen some of the changes that occurred as a result of making it a jRPG - such as the world map. I remember it use to be so simple.
